Fresh guidelines for sentencing sex offenders published

Sex offenders who have abused a position of power could be handed harsher jail terms under new sentencing guidelines for England and Wales.

The proposals from the Sentencing Council cover more than 50 different sexual offences and focus on the psychological, as well as the physical, impact on the victim.
