Minister accuses Syria of killing British doctor Abbas Khan
Foreign Office minister Hugh Robertson says Syrian authorities have "in effect murdered" a British doctor who was in the country to help victims of civil war.
London-based doctor Abbas Khan, 32, spent months in prison in Damascas after government officials accused him of co-operating with anti-government rebel forces.
His family has campaigned for his release and had been hoping he would be freed this week. His death was announced by the Syrian government who said that Dr Khan had committed suicide while in custody.
