'Plebgate' PC Keith Wallis pleads guilty to misconduct

A police officer has admitted lying about witnessing the row in the so-called "plebgate" affair which led to the resignation of a cabinet minister.

PC Keith Wallis originally said he had seen the argument between police officers at the gates of Downing street and the then Conservative chief whip Andrew Mitchell in September 2012.

On Friday PC Wallis pleaded guilty to misconduct in public office and offered to resign.
