'Plebgate' row: Officers regret Andrew Mitchell distress
Two officers have expressed regret over the distress caused to Andrew Mitchell, the Conservative chief whip who was forced to resign over the so-called 'plebgate' saga.
Det Sgt Stuart Hinton apologised to Mr Mitchell but Sgt Chris Jones stopped short of giving an unqualified apology in an appearance before the Home Affairs Select Committee.
