PM 'resorting to extreme measures over fracking'

David Cameron is offering councils that back "fracking" extra money in tax revenue, as a way of urging opponents to "get on board".

The prime minister said English local authorities would receive all the business rates collected from shale gas schemes - rather than the usual 50%.

Jane Thomas from Friends of The Earth accused the government of resorting to "extreme measures" to convince communities to accept fracking.
