Japan trial of Tokyo sarin attack cult member begins

A member of the Japanese group which was behind the deadly sarin gas attack on the Tokyo subway in 1995 has gone on trial after nearly two decades on the run.

Makoto Hirata, who was a member of the Aum Shinrikyo cult, is being tried over the abduction and death of a 68-year-old man, notary Kiyoshi Kariya.
