Lib Dem president defends Lord Rennard suspension

The Lib Dems have suspended Lord Rennard after he refused to apologise over sexual harassment claims.

Lord Rennard said he felt "regret" if he had unintentionally caused any women "hurt, embarrassment or upset" but he would not formally apologise.

Lib Dem President Tim Farron told the BBC: "We may not have done things properly in the years past....but we have done things properly in the past year since these issues have become open".
