Lord Rennard 'should be out of Lib Dems', accuser says

The former chief executive of the Liberal Democrats, Lord Rennard, will not face any disciplinary action in connection with claims that he sexually harassed female activists, because of insufficient evidence, according to his party.

Lord Rennard, who strenuously denies the allegations, has expressed a hope that he can now resume his roles within the party.

Bridget Harris, a former special adviser to Nick Clegg and among the women to make accusations against Lord Rennard, told BBC Newsnight that she did not want to remain part of the Liberal Democrats if the peer were allowed to stay in the party.
