'People delay reporting sexual abuse for all sorts of reasons' - DPP

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for England and Wales says there are many reasons why people do not report incidents of sexual abuse.

A report by the NSPCC reveals many of Jimmy Savile's victims were ignored or laughed at when they revealed at the time that he had sexually abused them.

DDP Alison Saunders says victims should come forward and have confidence in the criminal justice system.
