Powys residents launch appeal to save landmark tree
Llanfyllin residents have launched an appeal to save a Powys landmark known as "The Lonely Tree."
The Scots pine, thought to be around 150 years old, was felled by the recent high winds.
Amateur historian Pauline Page-Jones said they had received donations from as far away as Singapore to help the restoration efforts.
She told BBC Radio 5 live's Drive: "It's amazing, it's captured the imagination of people worldwide through social networking."
