Gleision mine deaths: Trial begins in Swansea

A jury has heard how four miners died in an explosion at a colliery in south Wales three years ago.

The evidence was given at the trial of the former manager of the pit, who is accused of causing their deaths.

Malcolm Fyfield was one of three men who escaped when the Gleision mine flooded, near Pontardawe. He denies charges of manslaughter by gross negligence.

Hywel Griffiths reports.
