Lord Dobbs attacks celebrity allegation 'bandwagon'

Friend of Nigel Evans, Lord Michael Dobbs, has claimed that too many "improper allegations" are being made against celebrities.

It comes after Evans, the former deputy speaker of the House of Commons, was cleared of a series of sexual assaults against men, including one rape.

House of Cards author, Lord Dobbs, said people were "trying to climb onto the celebrity bandwagon" and prosecution services were following them "too blindly."

He told BBC Radio 5 live's Drive: "The allegation that hangs over them and their families and their friends - it is the worst time of their lives."

The CPS said the evidence could "only be fully explored during a trial".
