CT scan reveals faces of ancient Egyptian mummies

The British Museum has been using CT scanners to show the faces of Ancient Egyptian mummies.

The scanners build 3D models of the mummies and can reveal how old they were and how they may have died.

Visitors will be able to digitally unwrap the bodies on interactive screens when the "Ancient lives, new discoveries" exhibit opens in May.

The museum's Egypt expert Dr John Taylor told BBC Radio 5 live's Drive: "We want to give people the understanding that these were once human beings like ourselves."
