Why schoolchildren are being sent to WW1 battlefields

A project starting on Tuesday will see the government pay for two children from every secondary school in England to visit World War One battlefield sites in Belgium and France.

It is hoped it will give them a deeper understanding of the conflict which they will share when they return home.
