Church of England to give debt advice

The Church of England is attempting to give people in debt an alternative to using pay-day lenders by promoting credit unions.

The church has announced pilot schemes in Liverpool, London and the diocese of Southwark almost a year after the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, said he would try to force pay-day lenders out of business.
