Playwright Polly Stenham: Theatre is a moral laboratory
Polly Stenham was just 19 years old when her first play was premiered at London's Royal Court Theatre. Seven years later, she is about to make her National Theatre debut with her fourth work, Hotel.
"Theatre is such a moral laboratory… it's always about what people do to people," she told the BBC's arts editor, Will Gompertz.
When asked about the gender disparity in the theatre, she said: "It's not that you want more women, you just want it to be fair."
First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Tuesday 3 June.
