D-Day 70th anniversary: Ceremonies and staged landing held

Veterans and serving military personnel have attended ceremonies on both sides of the English Channel to mark the 70th anniversary of D-Day.

A landing was staged as part of commemorations in and around Portsmouth, where exactly 70 years earlier troops were preparing to invade Nazi-occupied France.
