Forced marriage: 'Cultures do not change alone'

Campaigners have welcomed a law coming into effect in England and Wales making it a criminal offence to force people into marriage as "a huge step forward".

Saima Afzal is the Assistant Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire and was herself coerced into marriage when a young woman.

She told BBC Breakfast that action was needed as "cultures do not change alone" and it was important to focus on early intervention to try and protect those at risk.
