England are out of the World Cup

England are out of the World Cup after Italy failed to beat Costa Rica in their second qualifying round.

It is England's earliest exit from the finals since 1958.

Despite England losing both their World Cup games and failing to win any points, the FA has said manager Roy Hodgson is safe in his job.
