Camel Valley Wines goes head-to-head with Champagne

A winemaker from Cornwall is competing against some of the top French marques to be named International Sparkling Winemaker of the Year.

Sam Lindo of Camel Valley Wines will be competing against Régis Camus of Champagne Charles Heidsieck and Laurent Fresnet of Champagne Henriot.

Four million bottles of wine were produced in England and Wales in 2013, but this is the first time that an English winemaker has made the short list.

Andrew Plant has visited the vineyard.
