NSPCC says covering up child abuse is a crime

The head of the NSPCC, has said that people who cover up child abuse should face criminal prosecution.

Peter Wanless told the BBC that he hopes the government will change the law to achieve this.

It is a significant shift for the children's charity, which until now has opposed all forms of mandatory reporting of child abuse.
