Ian Watkins jail term appeal rejected

An appeal by paedophile rock star Ian Watkins to reduce the length of his jail term for child sex offences has been rejected by judges.

Watkins was not present in court, but was represented by Sally O'Neill QC who suggested that her client's guilty plea should deserve a shorter sentence.

But appeal judge Lord Justice Pitchford said his offences were "of such shocking depravity that they demanded a lengthy prison sentence".

The Lostprophets singer from Pontypridd was jailed for 29 years in December, with another six years on licence.
