'Pauper funerals': The story of one man's death

In Charles Dickens' England paupers funerals were reserved for those suffering extreme destitution, but they are not consigned to the past.

Thousands of people - unable to pay for their own funerals or without relatives who can - are cremated or buried every year in simple send-offs paid for by local councils, and recent research suggests these public health funerals are on the rise.

BBC Newsnight's Katie Razzall has been to Leeds to follow the story of one man's death.
