Rotherham child abuse 'not an ethnicity issue'

A project manager of a human rights organisation has said sexual grooming "exists in all communities, not specifically the Pakistani community".

Koolsoom Bashir from Inspire, which works towards addressing inequalities facing British Muslim women, told the Today programme that some in the Pakistani community use the "raja complex" phrase to describe a certain subsection that allows conditions for abuse.

But journalist and author Matthew Syed said "when we do talk about people coming from a particular ethnic origin, we need to look at the wider statistical context".
