Farage: Brussels would rule independent Scotland
The UKIP leader, Nigel Farage, will tell a rally in Glasgow that an independent Scotland would not be able to keep the pound and would be forced to join the euro. Mr Farage will warn that a "yes" vote next week would be a misnomer because Scotland would still be ruled by Brussels:
Mr Farage told the Today programme: "What Mr Salmond is saying is 'let's vote to separate from Westminster and then sign ourselves up to the EU state.'
"And whether you think being in the EU is a good thing or a bad thing, what is absolutely for certain is that their laws are supreme, their courts are supreme, and you cannot be an independent country and a member of the European Union."
First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Friday 12 September.
