David Cameron promises seven-day GP access by 2020

Patients in England will be able to visit their GP seven days a week under a future Conservative government by 2020, David Cameron has promised.

The prime minister has unveiled a further £100m from April 2015 for a fund set up in 2013 to improve flexibility.

The government has also promised to bring back "named GPs" - to take charge of care outside hospital - as part of a new contract for GPs.

Hugh Pym reports.
