David Cameron: Freezing benefits 'a basic fairness'

David Cameron has said that freezing working benefits so that they do not rise by more than wages is "a basic fairness".

He insisted that his government is helping families by reducing their tax burden.

The prime minister told the BBC's Nick Robinson that reducing the deficit was still crucial as it is "a drag anchor on our economy".
