Joss Stone takes part in Cenotaph vigil for Poppy Appeal

Singer Joss Stone has taken part in a vigil running from sunrise to sunset at the start of this year's Poppy Appeal at the Cenotaph.

Holding a photograph of her great-great-grandfather Private Alfred Ernest Stenning, she was joined by 29-year-old ex-Royal Marine Commando Pete Dunning, who lost both legs fighting in Afghanistan.

The Brit Award winner told BBC News why she was involved: "This is real and it is extremely important... War does not really touch us because of the men that fought in the First and Second World Wars."
