Dr Abbas Khan: British government 'should apologise'
Dr Abbas Khan, 32, was unlawfully killed in a Syrian jail a London inquest has ruled.
The surgeon was detained in Aleppo while treating victims of the civil war.
It was a vindication for his family who had fought a tireless campaign to prove that Dr Khan did not hang himself in the days before he was due to be released in December 2013.
Dr Khan's mother, Fatima, travelled to Damascus in July 2013 and visited a number of embassies and prisons to track down her son - her efforts to secure his release were described as ''superhuman'' at the inquest.
Mrs Khan spoke to the BBC's Lucy Manning about how she feels both she and her son were let down by the British government.
