Migrants told to go to UK to 'get money'
Today presenter Mishal Husain spoke to the deputy mayor of Calais Philippe Mignonet.
The deputy mayor of Calais, Philippe Mignonet, has insisted that the UK benefits system is a "magnet" for migrants trying to enter the country.
His comments came after the Kent MP Charlie Elphicke described as "complete nonsense" the claims by the mayor of Calais that benefits were a key factor in encouraging migrants to attempt to enter the country.
First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Friday 31 October.
