British men join Kurds' fight against Islamic State in Syria

A former British soldier and another British man are fighting with Kurdish troops in Syria against Islamic State (IS) militants, it has emerged.

James Hughes and Jamie Read are thought to have joined an American national on the front line against IS.

The Home Office says anyone travelling to Syria is putting themselves in "considerable danger", and that taking part in the conflict could be a criminal offence.
