RAC: Councils profiting millions from parking fines

Figures from the RAC revealed councils in England made a combined £667m profit from parking fines last year.

Communities Secretary Eric Pickles has accused local authorities of profiteering from parking fines and "bullying" motorists.

However, councils have hit back by arguing that it is important to "generate cash for car parking facilities".
