Network Rail: 'We've let a lot of people down today'

Network Rail has acknowledged it let people down after overrunning engineering work caused severe disruption to services in and out of two of the UK's busiest railway stations.

All trains to and from King's Cross in London have been cancelled and passengers are being advised not to travel.

There have also been problems at London Paddington, with the knock-on effect being felt around the country.

Network Rail managing director Robin Gisby said services from King's Cross should be back to normal on Sunday.
