HMIC report says police lack resources to investigate corruption

A report published by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary revealed that half of the police forces in England and Wales lacked the capability and resources to properly investigate corruption among their own officers.

The report said too few forces were able to identify threats and take steps to catch corrupt officers.

The Inspectorate of Constabulary said corruption was not endemic and police had made great strides to tackle it.

Danny Shaw reports.
