Syria girls' families criticise police over letters

Relatives of three east London school girls who ran away to Syria, say the police failed to make sure they had crucial information that could have helped them stop their daughters from joining Islamic State.

Detectives handed the girls letters to take home to their parents requesting permission to take formal statements, but the girls hid the letters.

The three British teenagers Amira Abase, Kadiza Sultana and Shamima Begum left home last month.
