Anti-terror strategy 'a toxic brand' - Muslim former officer

The government's anti-radicalisation strategy known as "Prevent" is failing to deter people from extremism according to former senior Muslim police officer, Dal Babu.

Babu said it was "a toxic brand" and some officers involved in the programme lacked basic knowledge of race and faith issues.

Most Muslims did not trust the programme and many saw it as a form of spying, he added.

June Kelly reports.
