Generation 2015 profiles: Claire Greaves
I'm 23 and live in Pontypool, South Wales. I was originally born in Oxfordshire but relocated to Wales with my family.
I have battled with anorexia and other mental health problems since early childhood and I have been in hospital many times. I have been detained under the Mental Health Act and at one point I spent a night in a police cell due to lack of hospital beds.
I am incredibly passionate about speaking out about mental illness to raise awareness and reduce stigma and I do this through my blog, the media and public speaking as well as my project with UK charity Fixers.
I hope I can use my life to make a positive impact on the world around me so that we can have a happier and healthier society. I have a creative streak and my passions in life are baking and dancing.
