Injured British Army officer on world's toughest race

Ibrar Ali was a Captain and platoon leader in the British Army when he lost part of his right arm in an explosion caused by a roadside bomb in Basra, Iraq in 2007.

He's one of many injured servicemen whose journeys back to civilian life have been difficult. That is why he decided to help raise money for the Walking With The Wounded charity by taking on one of the world's toughest races - the Marathon des Sables.

The Marathon des Sables is six marathons in six days across the Sahara desert.

He must carry all the food he needs for the week and temperatures can reach 50 degrees Celsius.
