Toy Like Me campaigner: Toys with disabilities 'very affirming'

A group of parents has launched an online campaign to see a new generation of toys bringing greater diversity to the playroom.

Some of the parents of children with disabilities felt so let down by traditional toys, they began to modify their own.

Toy Like Me campaigner Rebecca Atkinson said it was affirming for children to see toys that opened up new possibilities for them.

''We would like to see disability taken out of the hospital..and into a more fun setting,'' she said.
