'Surge' in women joining Islamic State

New research suggests young women travelling to Syria sometimes become involved in Islamic State propaganda and recruitment, but often end up "domestically isolated in severe conditions".

The independent think tank, the Institute of Strategic Dialogue, has also found that more professional women are joining the militants.
