Alton Towers boss speaks about rollercoaster crash
Merlin Entertainments, which manages Alton Towers, has confirmed it has temporarily closed three other theme park rides after Tuesday's rollercoaster crash, as the company reassesses safety procedures.
Sixteen people were injured, four seriously, when the carriages on the Smiler ride collided at the theme park. It will remain closed for the foreseeable future. The Saw, a similar rollercoaster at Thorpe Park, is also closed.
A further two rides at Chessington - Dragon's Fury and Rattlesnake - are also being taken out of service.
Speaking to BBC News, Merlin's chief executive Nick Varney also said that everything was being done to support those injured in the accident.
