BBC TV presenter defends awkwardly hugging guest

BBC Breakfast's sports presenter Mike Bushell has defended himself after attempting to hug one of the programme's guests during a live interview.

Bushell later appeared flustered as he explained to the tennis star Marion Bartoli that he was a "very huggy person".

"I've been told off for hugging people too much," he said, as he stood on Wimbledon's centre court.

"You're one of the cuddliest people I've ever met," Bushell added, after Breakfast presenter Charlie Stayt pointed out the embrace.
