UK refuses Ai Weiwei six-month visa
Chinese artist Ai Weiwei has been refused a six-month visa by the British government amid claims he lied on his visa application form.
One week ago, the renowned Chinese artist and outspoken activist had his passport returned to him from the Chinese authorities, after it was confiscated for almost four years.
However, on Thursday it was the British government that refused the artist a six-month visa to Britain.
Ai Weiwei was due to leave the country just days before China's President Xi Jinping began a state visit to the UK.
