English pubs awarded Grade II listed building status

Twenty-one pubs across England built between the two world wars are being awarded Grade II listed status.

Historic England says the pubs that have been chosen represent a fascinating time in British history.

One is the Royal Oak in East London - which has been the backdrop for lots of filming, including Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and the TV series Goodnight Sweetheart.
