Ramsgate pub plans for seafront pavilion

Plans to turn a Kent seafront pavilion into one of the biggest pubs in the country are about to go on display.

The Royal Victoria Pavilion in Ramsgate, which is more than 100 years old, was a popular concert hall, casino and nightclub before it closed in 2008.

Most people in the town welcome the plans by one of Britain's biggest pub chains, but some say a pub would not be in keeping with the character of the resort.

The plans will go on show on Friday at the Royal Temple Yacht Club.

South East Today's Charlie Rose spoke to Kandice Jones, chair of Friends of Ramsgate Seafront, and artist Ian McKay.
