Sinkhole in St Albans could be due to ancient extinct mines

The first of dozens of lorry loads of quick-drying cement have arrived to fill in a huge sinkhole in St Albans measuring 66ft (20m) wide and 33ft (10m) deep.

Homes were evacuated on Thursday morning after residents heard a crash and the hold appeared.

Ben Ando reports from St Albans.
