Ebola nurse Pauline Cafferkey has meningitis caused by virus

Doctors treating nurse Pauline Cafferkey, who became ill from Ebola, say the nurse has been treated for meningitis.

Dr Michael Jacobs, from the Royal Free Hospital in London, where Ms Cafferkey is being treated, said her meningitis had been caused by the Ebola virus which "had been inside the brain, and had re-emerged".

He also said she had made a "significant improvement" but had "a long recovery ahead of her".

Ms Cafferkey contracted the Ebola virus while working in west Africa.
