Edinburgh welcomes 2016 with a bang

Up to 75,000 revellers from more than 80 countries have gathered in Edinburgh for the city's annual Hogmanay celebrations.

Biffy Clyro headlined a sold-out Concert in the Gardens and a message from British astronaut Tim Peake was beamed to the crowd just before midnight.

On the stroke of midnight, fireworks lit up the sky.
