Rail fares rise by 1.1% in England, Scotland and Wales

A 1.1% average increase in the cost of train tickets in England, Wales and Scotland has come into effect.

It is the lowest increase since 2010, but campaigners say rail performance is so poor in some places, that customers may be surprised that prices are going up at all.
