Bereaved parents' fight for legal aid for their sons inquest

The parents of a seven-year-old boy who died during the flooding in Surrey two years ago say they may have to represent themselves at the coroner's inquest because they have been denied legal aid.

Zane Gbangbola died in February 2014, and a pathologist concluded that he died of carbon monoxide poisoning, possibly from a petrol driven pump that was thought to have been used to clear floodwater from the family's basement. His parents, Kye Gbangbola and Nicole Lawler dispute this, and say that the equipment was not in use and did not hold any fuel inside it.

An inquest into the boy's death opens in June.
